Observation Notes

Recent skywatching log

A quick scan of the latest field notes from club sessions. Brief entries, steady conditions, and what stood out in the eyepiece.

  1. Sky: Clear, steady air

First-quarter Moon showed crisp crater rims along the terminator; Tycho’s ray pattern was faint but still traceable in moments of steadier seeing.

  2. Sky: Thin high haze

Jupiter remained bright through light veil cloud, with two equatorial bands visible and the Galilean moons strung in a near-straight line.

  3. Sky: Good transparency

Saturn sat low but distinct; the ring plane was cleanly separated from the disk, and a subtle golden tint held as twilight faded.

  4. Sky: Bright moonlight

Early-evening constellations were easy to orient: the Summer Triangle remained prominent while Pegasus began climbing in the east.

  5. Sky: Intermittent streaks

A short meteor uptick appeared before local midnight, mostly faint trails with one brighter pass cutting north-to-south near the zenith.
